The PPBCC Foundation started as Barangay Kapondasyon five years ago, Dr. Maricelle Licuanan-Resurreccion together with her team coordinated and conducted free neutering in various barangays around Metro Manila. Taking it to a national level, PPBCC Foundation is founded, it is officially registered at SEC as a non-profit organization.
The organization goes to different locations in the Philippines to offer free neutering services in the community. Since the start of 2017 alone, PPBCC have done around 30 neuter projects, and neutered 2,562 pets. Outreach projects are coordinated with local government sectors such as city veterinarians and barangay officials, they are responsible for assisting the community to avail the free neuter services. Private sectors are also involved such as animal welfare groups and individual advocates to help facilitate the execution of neuter program.
Dr. Maricelle Licuanan-Resurreccion
The founder is an animal welfare & neuter advocate, Dr. Maricelle Licuanan-Resurreccion, a veterinarian for fourteen years whom have seen the need to make a change in the companion animal welfare in the Philippines. She is a dedicated and compassionate veterinarian and have received numerous recognition attributing her work towards the animal welfare. She has also done a handful of volunteer work with different animal welfare organization. And have always offered subsidized and low-cost neuter services.
She believes that neutering is the only solution to uplift the quality of life of the dogs and cats in the country and that the only humane way to eradicate rabies is by controlling the animal population. She also concluded that the increasing population of dogs and cats resulting to inadequate care can be attributed to misconception and mentality that dogs/cats are trending commodities and lack of responsibility of pet owners.
She has four kids, and loves to do outdoor activities and appreciate nature whenever she is not in the clinic.
