We at PPBCC recognizes the importance of dog and cat population control in eradication of rabies. Rabies is an endemic disease in the Philippines, 100% fatal and 100% preventable. Rabies transmission from dogs/cats is linked in low-income countries like the Philippines. We also believe that by having a controlled dog and cat population, we are also addressing the following:
HEALTH OF THE PEOPLE by protecting them from zoonotic diseases from dogs specially RABIES, leptospirosis and other bacteria from fecal contamination on the streets
IMPROVING THE WELL BEING OF OWNED DOGS/CATS AND FREE ROAMING DOGS/CATS by giving value to their existence and welfare.
PROTECTING THE ENVIRONMENT from fecal contamination and bacteria caused by overpopulation.
MINIMIZING THE NEGATIVE EFFECT OF FREE ROAMING DOGS AND CATS IN OUR TOURISM INDUSTRY.
